Virtual Colonoscopy

"Virtual colonoscopy" (VC) is a new technique that uses computed tomography and advanced imaging techniques to produce three dimensional views of the colonic mucosa similar to those of a "real" colonoscopy. As this non-invasive technique develops research is being undertaken to test how sensitive it is in detecting polyps and early colon cancer.
